General Dynamics Awarded UAV Ground System Contract

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), was recently awarded a contract by New Mexico State University, Physical Science Laboratory (NMSU PSL) for a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Ground Control System.  The system will be deployed at Las Cruces, New Mexico, as part of the NMSU UAV Technology Analysis and Applications Center (TAAC).  NMSU has been a leader in coordination and utilization of UAVs in the National Air Space. 

NMSU will also lease the Aerostar Tactical UAV from General Dynamics in support of UAV operations, training/certification and sensor technology development.  General Dynamics has a strategic alliance with Aeronautics Defense in Yavne, Israel, for unmanned systems.

The Aerostar UAV System will also be available to support U.S. Southern Border Surveillance missions and is currently deployed in multiple countries for border surveillance and critical asset/force protection.  Funding for the program is through the 46th Test Group at Holloman Air Force Base.
