General Dynamics Awarded $12.4 Million
Ammunition Contract

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced today that the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command at Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., has awarded a $12.4 million modification to an existing contract for the production of 140,000 rounds of 25mm M919 Armor-Piercing, Fin Stabilized, Discarding Sabot-Tracer (APFSDS-T) ammunition. This award brings the total contract value to $156 million for the M919 program. This contract will be managed out of General Dynamics' Marion, Ill., production facility.

The M919, the most advanced tactical 25mm cartridge, is considered the only round in the U.S. inventory capable of providing the U.S. Army's Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the U.S. Marine's Light Assault Vehicle with enhanced lethality overmatch capability against all modern threat advanced armored personnel and fighting vehicles. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is the sole contractor and systems integrator for the M919.  After the planned FY04 production, the company will have delivered approximately 2.5 million rounds to the US Army.
