Community Engagement and Partnerships
GD-OTS Ships 100 Care Packages to Deployed Troops
This fall, GD-OTS partnered with Operation Military Matters to host a supply drive to collect various items in support of the warfighter. The collection drive culminated in a packing party event, where employees volunteered to help organize donations, food, and well wishes into care packages to ship to deployed troops overseas.
GD-OTS Takes Thyme for Mental Health Awareness
GD-OTS participated in Mental Health Awareness Month by sharing information and resources, hosted events, and highlighted the services and support available through our Employee Assistance Program. One notable activity was a gardening event, which encouraged employees to take time away from their desks, be active, and connect with colleagues.
GD-OTS Attends Society of Hispanic Engineers Conference
The GD-OTS Human Resources team participated in the 2023 Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This conference brings together over 9,000 engineering, science, and mathematics professionals for an opportunity to network and attend educational sessions to grow their career.
GD-OTS San Diego Hosts Beach Clean-Up Event
GD-OTS San Diego hosted a volunteer beach clean-up event at Dunes Park – Imperial Beach. The team successfully filled an impressive 102 pounds of trash, plus 10 pounds of recyclable items. The most unusual item found was a piece of a boat!
GD-OTS Garland Helps Raise Funds for the Texas Special Olympics
The GD-OTS Garland team participated in a 10-week, Olympic-style event that sponsors the Texas Special Olympics. The event has raised funds that have now exceeded over three million dollars since 1998.
GD-OTS Honors Veterans Across the Organization
GD-OTS held Veteran’s Day celebrations across the organization to recognize the sacrifices that many of our employees and loved ones make in service of our great nation. Thank you to all who have served our country!
STEM Initiatives
Having a contingent of qualified engineers requires robust educational resources that prepare technology students for the engineering workforce. That’s why a central theme of our community investment is to recognize the importance of engineering and technology education. A number of our employees across the country partner with local communities to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education and inspire our next generation of innovators.
