The 20mm Improved Cartridge Family projectiles have an optimized aero ballistic shape that reduces time of flight and increase velocity at range for increased probability of hit. The Multipurpose Concept PGU-28A/B Semi Armor Piercing High Explosive Incendiary (SAPHEI) with delayed reaction carries the effectiveness inside the threats including light armor, aircraft, vehicles and general support equipment. The 20mm SAPHEI PGU-28A/B has demonstrated reliability and operability in the M61 gun system tests completed by the U. S. Government. The Target Practice, PGU-27A/B and Target Practice-Tracer, PGU-30A/B are cost effective training cartridges that are ballistically matched with the PGU-28A/B.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems has supplied over 150 million High Explosive Incendiary (HEI) M56 and Target Practice (TP) M55 cartridges to world wide users of 20mm x 102 gun systems. The M56 and M55 cartridges are fully interoperable in aerial and surface platforms using the M61 and M197 gun systems. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems also supply companion M200 series HEI and TP tracer ammunition.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems has delivered over 20 million Mk149 cartridges for the Mk15 Close In Weapons System. The Mk149 Mod 4 APDS cartridge with Tungsten Alloy penetrator is effective against anti-ship missiles, low flying aircraft and surface threats. The Mk149 Mod 4 cartridge is fully operable in all Mk15 Systems.

This round was developed and produced by General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems for the Mk15 Block 1B improved Phalanx system. The Mk 244 Mod O optimized tungsten alloy penetrator extends the effective range against high-speed anti-ship missile threats as well as a full spectrum of surface threats.

The 20MM Multipurpose Tracer - Self Destruct cartridge with optimized ballistic projectile shape has demonstrated effectiveness against light armor at 1,000 meters range. This cartridge is effective against airborne and light surface threats at 2,000 meters range. The Multipurpose Concept projectile with delayed reaction carries the effectiveness inside the threat with large fragments and incendiary effects. Projectile self destruct at 2,300 meters minimum range minimizes collateral surface damage for engagement of airborne threats.

The 25mm XM307 Advanced Crew Served Weapon (ACSW) System is a next generation infantry weapon incorporating the latest advances in fire control, materials technology and munitions to provide the 21st century warfighter with accurate, long-range, destructive firepower in a compact, self-contained lightweight package. GD-OTS is the developer and producer of the XM307 ammunition family.

The ACSW is light enough to be carried and employed by a two-man crew; and yet, delivers decisively violent, long-range, high-explosive fire which offers considerable advantages to the warfighter over the current Caliber .50 M2HB heavy machine gun or the 40mm MK-19.

A wide spectrum of targets can be effectively engaged and destroyed using either of the two 25mm High-Explosive combat cartridges: Precision High Explosive Anti-Personnel Ammunition or Point Detonating Armor Piercing Shaped Charge Ammunition. Fuze setting is accomplished by a full solution fire control integrated into the ACSW system. The fire control features direct view optics, a day/night all weather capability, laser range finder and commonality with Land Warrior. A Target Practice (TP) cartridge is available for training purposes. A Target Practice Spotter cartridge is also available for training with Airburst Signature.

The Family of 25mm munitions provides decisively violent and suppressive target effects and a leap ahead in crew served weapons performance. The XM1019 HEAB capable of defeating not only exposed targets, but also those in defilade. For the first time, an individual soldier can hit targets that have taken cover behind structures, foxholes, terrain features and/or vehicles, with an air bursting 25mm munition, at ranges up to 2000 meters. The XM 1049 AP munitions can defeat light armored materiel targets at ranges of 2000 meters.

The 25mm SAPHEI-T, PGU-32/U cartridge is effective against aerial and surface threats including light armor and general support equipment. The PGU-32/U Multipurpose Concept delayed reaction takes the projectile explosive, large fragments and incendiary effects inside the threat. The PGU-32/U demonstrates excellent graze sensitivity and the forward directed fragment cone is effective against personnel in open terrain or protected by light structures. The PGU-32/U, developed and qualified for the AV-8/B Harrier and Mk38 Deck Mount, ballistically matches 25mm M792 HEI-T-SD and M793 TP-T. The PGU-32/U cartridge is fully interoperable in the LAV-AD, LAV-25 and Bradley Fighting Vehicle gun systems.

The General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems 25MM Target Practice Frangible-Tracer, PGU-33/U cartridge solves the ricochet problems associated with close air support air to ground training. The PGU33/ Uprojectile is manufactured from cost effective sinter metal powder and designed to produce fragments no larger than 5 grams after impact with the ground. The PGU-33/U is ballistically matched with the 25mm API, HEI, HEI-T, TP, TP-T and SAPHEI-T, PGU-32/U. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is the developer and producer of the PGU-33/U cartridge.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is the sole producer of combat proven 25mm APFSDS-T M919 cartridges. The high velocity M919 assures first shot hit and kill for armored threats. The M919 fin stabilized long rod penetrator has demonstrated significant penetration effectiveness when compared with current spin stabilized APDS-T cartridges. The M919 propulsion system provides high muzzle velocity with low operating pressure compatible with M242 gun system life cycle requirements. The M919 is fully interoperable with M242 and KBA-B02 automatic gun systems.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems has produced approximately 30 million 25mm x 137 cartridges for the M242 Bushmaster gun systems. The Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot-Tracer, M791 has demonstrated cost effective defeat of light armored threats with a tungsten alloy penetrator. The High Explosive Incendiary Tracer Self Destruct M793 cartridge is effective against light targets and personnel. The Target Practice-Tracer, M793 and Target Practice Discarding Sabot-Tracer, M910 cartridges are cost effective training rounds for the M792 and M791 respectively.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems 25MM Multipurpose Tracer Self Destruct, Mk2 is the ideal cartridge for low intensity conflict. This single cartridge provides effectiveness against aerial and surface threats including personnel. The Multipurpose Concept delayed reaction permits defeat of light armor and places the projectile explosive, fragments and incendiary effects inside the threat. The cartridge is effective against general support equipment and air craft at 2,000 meters range. The self destruct feature eliminates collateral damage for engagement of aerial targets. Excellent graze sensitivity coupled with large fragments in a forward directed cone produces significant effectiveness against personnel in open or protected by light structures.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GDOTS) has produced over 2 million 30mm x 113 cartridges for the AH-64 M230 gun system. The GDOTS Pyrotechnically Initiated Explosive (PIE) Cartridge provides a cost effective response for low intensity conflict. The Multipurpose Concept delayed reaction places the projectile explosive, fragments and incendiary effects inside the threat. The PIE cartridge is effective against general support equipment, and vehicles. Excellent graze sensitivity coupled with large fragments in a forward directed cone produces significant effectiveness against personnel in open or protected by light structures. The PIE cartridge is ballistically matched with the M788 TP and M789 HEDP.

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems has delivered over 100 million 30mm x 173 cartridges for the A-10 Thunderbolt II GAU-8/A gun system. The combat proven API, PGU-14/B and HEI, PGU-15/B are effective against any modern battlefield target. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems produces TP, PGU-15/B cartridges to meet annual training requirements. The HEI, API and TP are fully operable in the Mk 46 gun system.

The 40mm high Velocity Canister Cartridge (HVCC), fired from the MK19 Grenade Machine Gun (GMG), allows the operator to radically change use of the MK19 GMG from a stand-off area weapon to a short-range anti-personnel and perimeter defense weapon.
